Quiz

1) John Baldessari's "a Am Making Art."
In this video John has alot of conceptual ideas in it. That main purpose was to spell out the title of the video with movements in his body along a white wall. He does it unchoreographed and his gestures lead to the next gesture aloowing a word to be spelled.

2) Bill Viola's "Playing Soul Music to My Freckles."
In this video Bill uses sound and the interplay of light and dark. He then performed for the camera with a loudspeaker superimposed on his back.

3) Phyllis Baldino's "I'm Not the Girl Who Misses Much."
In this video there a girl dancing in front of the camera repeating the words of the title. This video was to make fun of the generation of MTV where the female body is degraded.

4) What Do I better understand?
I understand that it isnt just making an entertainment movie to everyone can enjoy it. There is alot to do with camera angles and concepts that need to be thought before the video is shot to have meaning.

5) Artful Videos?
From what I gathered, the artful videos are the videos that are narratives with meaning, formal experimentations, short humorous tapes, or large-scale meditations.
